A SOLID VENTURE WITH WINE AS THE PROTAGONIST
La Colección began its venture in the most historically acclaimed winemaking regions of Spain with projects in Ribera del Duero, Rioja and Rueda. Nowadays, when all and sundry are producing wine it can be difficult to find a company that follows the classic oenological canon i.e., the importance of the vineyard. This however is the case with La Colección D.C.E. who began life twenty years ago, by cultivating a 120-hectare vineyard at Ausejo, in La Rioja. A few years later La Colección planted a further 100 at Pinos Claros, Ribera del Duero, in the heart of the famous ‘Golden-Mile’ in Quintanilla de Onéismo, facing the Duero river and sharing a pine forest with one of the most prestigious wineries in the world, Vegasicilia. By following this method and through a well thought out and serious operation we have put our faith in the people who know the wines best - the winemakers. They have designed our entire process, directing the cultivation of the vineyards, through to the maceration of the grapes. This concept has become the keystone for all our wines and the true life-blood of the project.
